Shoes, Shoes, Shoes
So I today I brought my sister into Roadrunner to get a gait analysis. It’s about a 12 minute process where they film your feet while you run and then play it back slowly to see exactly how your foot hits the ground. We found out she has medium arches and would benefit from stability shoes. We are thinking of buying her the Nike Lunarglide+ 4 but they are expensive so we’ll see… They also made custom insoles which we ended up buying for her.
Of course due to my curiosity I decided to get my gait analyzed as well. It’s free so why not?! I’m been on the look out for new running shoes recently and why not buy new shoes before I head off to college?! I found out I have extremely high arches and tend to put more pressure on my right foot than my left one. They told me because of my right foot I should get stability shoes as well. I always use the Asics GT-2150, Asics GT-2160, and Asics GT-2170 line of shoes and they’ve worked well for me – guess what, they’re a stability shoe! I guess I chose correctly haha. But I’ve been reading some stuff online and apparently people with high-arches would be better off with neutral cushioning shoes. So I’m kind of at a loss of what to buy. I’m a VIP member with Roadrunner so I can always return any shoe if it doesn’t feel right to me within 90 days. Score! I’m thinking of buying the Kinvara 2, Brooks Ghost 4, Brooks Green Silence, or Ravenna 3. Gah I don’t know! I could always buy the GT-2170 again but with my VIP thing I just want to try out something new. Do you guys have any suggestions? If you have high arches please let me know what type of shoes you run in!
