I was so active this weekend it was a little ridiculous! On Saturday morning I went on a 10 mile hike with a friend. It was suppose to be 13 miles but we got bored and decided to turn around. We were also impatient and hungry so we decided to run back to the trailhead. Fun fun. Running downhill feels so freeing, except for the part where you can’t stop even if you wanted to. Nonetheless, it’s definitely one of my favorite feelings in the world. By the time we got back we were famished and decided to make strawberry pancakes – so delicious. If you’ve never had strawberry pancakes before you’re missing out! That night I also went clubbing at Beta with a few friends. It was my first time clubbing and I really enjoyed myself. I could definitely do without the sweat and BO but I had a great time. Ten mile hike + dancing until 2am… exhausting! Dancing is the most fun exercise in my opinion.
Yesterday I was suppose to go to my first Zumba class but it was full before I got to the rec center :(. Boo…. So my friend and I just did the stationary bikes while watched our other friends do Zumba. Unfortunate. Hopefully I’ll be able to attend a Zumba class later this week. We’ll see how busy I am. I also did my first insanity workout yesterday – Plyometric Cardio Circuit. KILL ME. It’s so hard. The warm up was fine but the actual circuit training was painful torture. Felt super good afterward but it was the most difficult thing I’ve done in a while. I’ve never sweat so much. I remember the first time I did insanity (about 2 years ago at a friend’s house) I was dying after the warmup. So at least I know my cardio has improved tremendously. Thank you running! Tonight’s insanity workout is Cardio Power and Resistance Training… sounds intimidating. My diet has been so horrendous lately; you didn’t think those strawberry pancakes were actually healthy did you? I’ve been eating whatever is at home (my parents don’t buy the healthiest things) and it’s really bad. Gotta jump off the bad food bandwagon! Maybe writing down what I eat in the Insanity food diary will keep me accountable for what I eat. Yes, I think that will work. I’ll start that tonight. Dinner is going to be a healthy Chinese meal so I’m not too worried about that.
So I intern at a new start-up company called Organamania and while I was researching Driscoll’s organic products I came across a raspberry I’ve never even seen before – golden raspberries! Whenever I go to the supermarket I always look at the fruit but I have never seen these. Have you? Apparently they are superior in flavor when compared to regular red raspberries according to this site.
